There has been a lot of talk lately about Street Fighter II being released for the Xbox Live Arcade. According to the june issue of Official Xbox Magazine it will be released on or before Saturday June 10th. Click here to see the full calendar that is included in the magazine. This calendar is also available on xbox.com/primetime but that calendar has no mention of Street Fighter II. Will Street Figter II Turbo Hyper Fighting be released on Saturday June 10th or has it been pushed back to sometime later in June? I guess we find out tomorrow.

My wife bought me an xbox 360 for Christmas and one of the things I asked her when I got it was "Will you play some of the games with me?". I had read all about how the xbox 360 was going to have the Live Arcade where I could download small "Casual Gamer" type games. I thought this would be perfect since my wife certainly isn't going to play GRAW and hates car racing games.

I have yet to find one game that is 2 player. Notice I didn't say multiplayer. Marble Blast Ultra has multiplayer, I can play it with someone across the globe, yet I can't play it with my wife who is sitting right next to me. Now, admittedly I have not played every xbox live arcade game but I have played/purchased hexic, zuma, marble blast ultra, Crystal Quest, robotron, feeding frenzy, jewel quest and most recently astro pop.

I figured one of these games would have a 2 player mode. Four of the above games are jewel/matching/explosion type games. Those are the games that are perfect in 2 player mode. Some of my favorite times playing video games have been playing tetris, columns, puzzle bobble, dr. mario, and magical drop. I find it hard to believe multiplayer gaming is so popular that game developers have forgotten how fun it is to play games with your friends who are in the same room.

P.S. Astro Pop is a great game and anyone who likes it should really go find the roms for Magical Drop 3 and play it with Mame.
